World Soundtrack Awards 2023
The 2023 World Soundtrack Awards begin today in Opera Ghent from 19th – 21st October.
Dirk Brossé will conduct the Brussels Philharmonic, performing at both the thematic concert and the World Soundtrack Awards.
This year, the opening concert is PRESS PLAY: Music in Games featuring a selection of music by Austin Wintory; namely from ‘Abzû’, ‘Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’, and ‘Journey’. The concert will see the first presentation of the WSA Game Music Award, an international prize for the best original score for a video game and/or other interactive media, chosen by the public.
The Awards ceremony and concert is the concluding performance of the weekend. Air-Edel composers Dirk Brossé and Kazuma Jinnouchi are nominated in this years awards for Best Original Score for a Belgian Production and Discovery of the Year respectively.
Composer Laurence Rosenthal is set to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.
