‘Rocky Ros Muc’ soundtrack released on Air-Edel Records
Andrew Simon McAllister’s score for Michael Fanning’s ‘Rocky Ros Muc’ is a powerful example of how to successfully capture the classic 80’s synth sound made popular in the recent Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’.
The original soundtrack, released by Air-Edel Records on April 28th, is available for streaming and digital download from a number of platforms including Amazon, Spotify and iTunes.
The soundtrack release coincides with the recent world premiere of ‘Rocky Ros Muc’ at the Boston Irish Film Festival 2017 where it was awarded the ‘Global Vision Documentary’. The feature documentary focuses on boxer Sean Mannion and his rise from humble beginnings, to challenging for a world title crown. From the quiet Gaeltacht village of Ros Muc in Co Galway, to the criminal underworld of James ‘Whitey’ Bulger and the mean streets of Boston, Rocky Ros Muc examines spirit inside the ring and troubles outside; the reality of emigration and its impact on identity.
“Rocky Ros Muc was a great film to work on, the score definitely has a style I grew up listening to. I was able to break out my old 80’s synths and have a lot fun! The sound of the score really suits the feel and setting for the film Michael has created with some great fighting scenes to let loose on” – Andrew Simon McAllister
