What better way to end a momentous 2024 than with our very first Christmas single. We Sail takes the Gloucestershire Wassail and sets it loose on the waves and Drunken Santa well… what would we do with him! These two songs pave the way for a new album in 2 025 and a new era for the Hay Shantymen. – Grant Olding

The Hay Shantymen have been delighting audiences all over the UK since 2016 with their brand of sea shanties and other nautical songs. From their moorings on the east coast of Wales their spirited singing and sonorous harmonies have taken them to festivals such as Falmouth, Bristol, Latitude and of course Hay Festival in their home port of Hay on Wye. They were founded by Fiona Evans and continue under the leadership of musical director, Grant Olding. Firm friendships and a love of singing, the sea and beer (not necessarily in that order) unite them and to date they have raised almost £15,000 for the RNLI.
