Air-Edel Records presents Richard Collin’s soundtrack for Secret Amazon: Into The Wild, directed by Marty Stalker. The two-part documentary premiered on Channel 4 this month and follows British explorer, Lucy Shepherd, as she embarks on an Amazon expedition across virgin jungle territory while facing danger at every turn.

‘Secret Amazon: Into The Wild (Original Soundtrack)’ will be available across all major streaming platforms from 11^th October 2024.

‘Secrets of the Amazon’ explores the adventures of Lucy Shepard and her Indigenous team as they embark on an unprecedented 50-day expedition to traverse unexplored parts of the Amazon rainforest, highlighting urgent need for rainforest preservation to safeguard our future. 

For the score, Lucy and I decided the music should focus on two key features: the powers and spirits of the rainforest as well as the human bond between Lucy and her indigenous team. 

To represent the rainforest I opted for primal, close percussion mixed with live and processed sounds from a double bass. For the more human element of the story, I leaned more towards guitars and indigenous flutes to help convey the beauty as well as the more spiritual elements of the show such as the illusive and Bushmaster Snake.  – Richard Collins
