Janet has spent the past fifteen months working on Warner Bros.’ tentpole musical ‘Wonka’ – starring Timothée Chalamet and directed by Paul King. The film features songs by Neil Hannon and an original score by Joby Talbot.

Ever fascinated exploring the relationship between storytelling, sound, and music, Janet started working alongside Mark Willsher editing the scores of live-action feature films including ‘Downton Abbey: A New Era’ (Simon Curtis / John Lunn), ‘Death on the Nile’ (Kenneth Branagh / Patrick Doyle), and StudioCanal’s ‘A Boy Called Christmas’ (Gil Kenan / Dario Marianelli). Both ‘Death on the Nile’ and ‘A Boy Called Christmas’ were nominated for an Ivor Novello Award, as well as Best Original Score in Feature Film at the Music and Sound Awards.

Rounding out her experience, Janet has worked on high-profile animation projects including ‘Super Giant Robot Brothers’ (directed by Academy Award winner Mark Andrews, with music composed by Alex Mandel) and ‘Riverdance: The Animated Adventure’ (directed by Eamonn Butler and Dave Rosenbaum, with original score and songs by Bill Whelan). The remainder of 2023 will see her working on another Netflix project: ‘Ultraman: Made in Japan’ (directed by Prime-Time Emmy winner Shannon Tindle and John Aoshima, with an original score by Scot Stafford), as well as Warner Bros.’ upcoming return to Middle-earth: ‘The War of the Rohirrim’ (directed by Kenji Kamiyama, with an original score by Stephen Gallagher).

A violinist and violist, trained by former Berlin Philharmonic solo violist Wilfried Strehle at the Berlin University of the Arts, Janet performed under the late Bernhard Haitink, David Zinman, Nello Santi, and Jesus Lopez-Cobos, amongst others. She has performed in world-renowned concert halls including the Berlin Philharmonic, Konzerthaus Berlin, Tonhalle Zurich, the Smetana Hall in Prague, and the Warsaw Philharmonic.

Janet’s musical background provided her with the unique opportunity to work at ECM Records as assistant to producer and multiple Grammy Award and Downbeat Critics Poll winner Manfred Eicher. Inspired by the label’s long-standing musical contribution to film, she simultaneously studied for her Music Supervision Certificate from the Berklee College of Music, where she graduated summa cum laude. These experiences ignited a passion for music production which led Janet to pursue studies at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in London, where she graduated with First-Class Honours. During her studies Janet focused on the field of spatial audio recording and production techniques, which led to her being invited as a guest speaker to the International Conference on Spatial Audio, Schoeps MikroForum, and Galaxy Studios. Since that time Janet has also worked for award-winning engineers Tony Faulkner and Jonathan Allen, as well as re-recording mixer Howard Bargroff.
